Insured ship-in for designer bags

Insured ship-in for designer bags

Not everyone can reach a Green Hills or Franklin appointment the week they want to sell. Insured ship-in is our remote path for qualifying Louis Vuitton, modern Chanel, and Goyard (and consign candidates) into Middle Tennessee intake — with the same rule as in person: preliminary range from photos, firm offer only after physical inspection and authentication.

This page is the ops path: what happens, in what order, what “insured” means in practice for sellers, and when ship-in is the wrong choice. It is not a carrier advertisement and not a guarantee against every transit outcome.

All offers are conditional pending physical inspection and authentication. Ship-in does not create a binding photo price. Payment method and timing are named at acceptance — ACH/cheque are not “instant cash.” Independent reseller.

When ship-in makes sense

  • You are in Middle Tennessee or further out and cannot schedule a local appointment soon
  • The bag is within our likely buy/consign box and photos support a serious preliminary range
  • You can pack carefully and use a tracked, insured method we agree before you ship

Prefer appointment instead when: you want same-visit decision + payment on acceptance; the collection is large (come-to-you may apply); or the bag is high-escalation and you prefer watching intake. Corridor logistics: private appointment Green Hills & Franklin · hub: private appointment.

Ship-in sequence (seller view)

  1. Submit photos via What is my bag worth? — daylight, flaws included.
  2. Preliminary range with comps basis stated when available (target: within about four business hours on business days when intake is complete).
  3. Ship authorization — we confirm we want the bag in hand, share the ship-to address we use for intake, and agree carrier/insurance expectations before you drop off. Do not ship cold without that confirmation.
  4. You ship — tracked service; insure for a value you and we have discussed as appropriate for transit (not a promise of payout). Keep receipt and tracking.
  5. Intake on arrival — we confirm receipt, open with condition notes, run verification actions.
  6. Firm conditional offer — target: within one business day of arrival for standard buy-box pieces (escalation bands may take longer when a specialist is required).
  7. You accept or decline — on acceptance, pay within one business day by the named method (physical currency arrangements differ for remote; typically ACH or cheque). On decline, we discuss return shipping responsibly.

Packing expectations (practical)

  • Empty the bag completely (check pockets)
  • Stuff lightly with clean paper to hold shape — no newspaper ink against light linings
  • Wrap hardware in soft cloth or tissue so it does not abrade canvas/leather
  • Place in dust bag if you have one; otherwise clean cotton pillowcase
  • Box with no empty rattle space; double-box for soft totes when practical
  • Do not write “Louis Vuitton / Chanel / Goyard” or high values on the exterior label

What “insured” means here (and does not)

Means: we expect a tracked shipment with carrier insurance (or declared value coverage) appropriate to the piece as agreed before ship. Keep documentation.

Does not mean: we underwrite every carrier dispute as a free payout guarantee; transit damage is handled via carrier process first; a firm buyout number is not locked by the insured amount you declare.

Soft-launch: we do not invent loss statistics or “100% safe ship” claims.

Payment timing on ship-in acceptance

Step Timing language we use
Firm offer after intake Target within one business day of arrival (standard band)
Your decision Respond promptly; bags are not held indefinitely without word
Payment after acceptance Within one business day by named method (usually ACH or cheque for remote)
ACH / cheque Not called instant cash; bank posting/holds named

Cash-on-appointment remains the in-person liquidity path: cash for LV · cash for Chanel · cash for Goyard · cash hub.

Buy vs consign after ship-in

Same commercial rules as local: LV / modern Chanel / Goyard buy when they clear; Hermès / Gucci consign-only; you approve consign prices. Buyout vs consignment · consignment Nashville · Hermès & Gucci.

If we decline, we explain in writing when we can and arrange return discussion — we do not ghost a shipped bag.
