Three things that actually determine value

1. Model + material / hardware — a Neverfull and a Pochette Métis are not close; caviar vs lambskin on Chanel is a major swing.
2. Condition — vachetta, glazing, corners, lining, odour, completeness.
3. Current demand — scarcity (e.g. Goyard) vs high supply (common LV canvases).

Retail price paid is a weak predictor of resale.

Why ranges, not single numbers

A single number from a photo pretends certainty we don’t have until the bag is in hand. We send a range, plus what would move the top or bottom, plus comparable sales with the basis stated (channel, date band, condition band).

Soft-launch: Until you have sold data, say “based on recent public comparable listings/sales we reviewed for like model/condition” — never invent a sold price. Prefer hiding specific $ until real.

Why we won’t give a firm number from a photo alone

Photos miss odour, sticky lining, hardware weight, stamping depth, and repair history. Firm buyout or listing price follows inspection (and verification steps by value band).
